His love of Morocco is reflected in his paintings, inspired by landscapes and everyday life

 

Born in 1886 in Nancy, Jacques grew up in a family of artists and studied at the Beaux-Arts before pursuing his career in Paris.

 

In 1922, he settled permanently in Morocco, where he developed a style combining Eastern and Western influences.

 

He created the famous Majorelle garden in Marrakech, which has become an iconic landmark.

His love of Morocco is reflected in his paintings, inspired by landscapes and everyday life. He died in October 1962 in Paris.
