Born in Taza in 1998, Ziyad El Mansouri lives and works in Tetouan.
Painter and musician, Ziyad grew up in Taza until the age of 14. His burgeoning artistic passion led him and his family to the Tetouan region in northern Morocco, where he joined the Imam El Ghazali High School in the Applied Arts section. He obtained his high school diploma in Applied Arts in 2015, and then entered the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan, graduating in 2020.
In his artistic practice, Ziyad explores the interaction between imagination and reality, creating a visual narrative that transcends conventional boundaries. Through a blend of symbolism and metaphor, he strives to capture the essence of emotions and thoughts that are often indescribable, seeking to unravel the enigmatic threads that connect us to the world and to each other. With a palette ranging from vivid to monochromatic, the artist embraces the duality of light and shadow, symbolizing the dual nature of existence itself. Through this exploration of contrasts, Ziyad aims to reveal the inherent beauty in chaos and the order in the abstract.
